Student Tips: Stay Out of Debt (Part 2)
Here are more tips to help you keep your head above the water while enjoying your years in the University.
Tip #4: Utilise all the financial perks available to students.
Universities have special programs and offers that are for students who are in dire financial straits. Grants and other forms of assistance are always being offered. The best thing about these things is that some of them are for free and you do not have to worry about paying for them. The catch? You have to be really in need and you have to be able to prove it.
Tip #5: Learn to be independent and find your own means of earning a living.
This story is as old as time – university students work at least several hours in a week in order to augment their income. It is actually one of the best tips that I could give you. There is no shortage of finding additional income today. In fact, with the technology available to most everyone, there are more choices for student jobs. You can go for the traditional student jobs – waiting on tables, tutoring, babysitting, and the like. If you prefer to be alone you can go online and sell stuff, write freelance, maintain a blog, and more.
Tip #6: Expect the unexpected.
The unexpected has the habit of popping up at the worst moments. That is why you have to set aside something in case of an emergency. Your parents cannot always help out and they may not be there the moment you need it.
